I have recently started working at the Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation in the Emergency Department of a government setup to further develop my clinical skills. This role has provided me with valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, where I am learning to manage a wide range of acute medical conditions. Working in the emergency department has enhanced my ability to think quickly, make critical decisions, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to provide the best care to patients in urgent need. This experience is helping me build a solid foundation in emergency medicine while also refining my overall clinical competence.
Worked on diverse writing projects including blog posts, website content, and creative storytelling for international clients. Developed strong skills in research, SEO-friendly writing, and adapting tone for different audiences. Built a track record of meeting tight deadlines and maintaining client satisfaction through clear, engaging, and well-structured content.
During my internship year at Agha Khan Hospital, I had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various departments in both medicine and surgery. I worked alongside skilled professionals in subspecialties such as psychiatry, heme-oncology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine, which provided a well-rounded understanding of patient care in diverse settings. Additionally, I was exposed to general surgery, trauma surgery, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, pediatric surgery, and ENT, allowing me to develop practical skills and a deeper insight into surgical procedures. Throughout the course of these rotations, one thing that particularly caught my eye was the critical role of interventional radiology and its need across every subspecialty. This sparked my interest in exploring this field further, as I recognized its significant contribution to minimally invasive procedures and patient outcomes. This comprehensive exposure enhanced my clinical knowledge and helped me grow as a medical professional.
During my elective rotation in psychiatry at Aga Khan University Hospital, I had the chance to closely observe how mental health conditions are assessed and managed in a clinical setting. I was involved in taking detailed psychiatric histories, performing mental status examinations, and learning how consulting services are conducted within the department. The rotation not only improved my clinical communication skills but also gave me a deeper appreciation for the sensitivity and depth involved in psychiatric care. It was a meaningful experience that further strengthened my interest in pursuing psychiatry in the future.
Assisted in managing patient data, conducting preliminary patient assessments, learning triage systems on emergency medical care setup.
