· Examiner of FCPS-II gastroenterology.
· Invigilation of written and MCQs postgraduate examinations conducted by CPSP.
· Participated in Media Campaign for the awareness of Diseased Organ Transplantation
· Conducting Mock Examination in the format of TOCAS( Target oriented assessment of clinical skills) for Gastroenterology and Hepatology exit examination.
· As assistant professor actively participated and worked with the team who performed the first ever successful liver transplant of Pakistan at SIUT in Nov 2003 in collaboration with King’s College London. The same team performed two more liver transplants the next year. The efforts included formulation of guidelines for pre transplant evaluation and selection of potential recipients and donors, preparing them for transplant and post transplant management.
· As a faculty member of the department ensured the full recognition of GI fellowship-training program from college of college of physicians and surgeons of Pakistan in 2005, which is successfully running till date.
· Designed and supervised the renovation work of “Endoscopy Unit” to make it work more efficiently with the capability of performing ERCP at the same place. The work included lead shielding of the procedure room, state of the art washing area, provision of designated areas for attendants and patients waiting, patient’s recovery, equipments and accessories storage, computerized data storage and reporting area etc. The latest equipments were acquired (such as Olympus 180 series gastroscope and colonoscope, 160 series duodenoscope and choledochoscope).
· Designed and composed the stationery for newly established Hepato-Gastroenterology Section of SIUT. These include Phase I to III evaluation of liver transplant candidates & donor, History sheet, Discharge summary, Admission form, Identity card, Registration card, Instruction to nursing staff, Lab & U/S requests, Assessment form for Hepatoccellular carcinoma.
· As a member of Infection Control Committee of SIUT, formulated a guideline for proper handling of seropositive patients and also suggested Post-Exposure strategies and counseling
· Assisted in designing software for reporting, auditing & data analysis of GI.Endoscopies and ERCPs.
· Wrote and composed a booklet for promoting hepatitis awareness in patients and public
· Established “Control and research Center for hepatitis” at SIUT with the help of government of Sindh. This center aims to reduce the incidence of hepatitis B, C and D in the community through focused prevention strategies including public awareness and effective vaccination, targeted control measures including transmission risk reduction, occupational hazard reduction, and effective treatment while ensuring objectivity through reliable data collection and research throughout this process.

· Established a community Gastroenterology clinic in Kathore 50 km from Karachi
· Multiple nation wide TV appearances in morning shows and talk shows on GEO TV, DUNYA TV, SAMAA TV, Health TV and PTV

“Champions of Endoscopy” Award
Our video presentation “Successful removal of Intra-hepatic Bile Duct Stones Using Combination of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy and Direct Peroral Cholangioscopy” won the “Champions of Endoscopy” Award in a conference of Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology (PSG) held on 21-23 February 2013 in Lahore, Pakistan. This competition was held by the title name “champions League of Endoscopy 2013” and selected videos of the endoscopy procedure from all the Pakistan were presented in this session.
Third Prize for Poster Presentation in 9th CAST meeting
Our poster presentation “Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy for Difficult Bile Duct Stones; Initial Experience at SIUT” won the third prize in the 9thmeeting of Congress of the Asian Society of Transplantation held in Karachi, Pakistan in November 2005.
