Very interested in molecular biology research and have experience with molecular biology practical projects.
Capstone Project, 2025 - Functional Impact of I291A Mutation on Catechol 2,3-dioxygenase in pHISCAT-transformed E. coli XL1-Blue Cells: Expression, Purification, and Enzymatic Activity Analysis. Using the method of site-directed mutagenesis with enzyme assays.
Completed lab work, 2024 - Cloning the cDNA of the human Growth Hormone (hGH) Gene and the Expression of the Peptide Product, Somatotropin, in E. coli Cells. Engineered the expression of the drug Somatotropin in bacteria E. coli and purification of the recombinant protein. Tested the technique within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to produce the recombinant protein of potential therapeutic use.
Completed lab work, 2024 - CRISPR-Cas9 Gene Editing of ADE2 in S.cerevisiae. Directly editing the ADE2 gene in the genome of living S. cerevisiae cells using CRISPR and HDR methodology.
Completed Coursework, 2023: Inheritance of TAS2R38 gene SNPs and their Relationship with Human Taste Receptors. Explored the impact of TAS2R38 SNPs on tasting behaviours and statistical analysis of data.
