  • Get all supplies, tools, and equipment ready for the job that needs to be completed that day or week ensuring that the equipment has gas, oil, and grease and check air filters etc. Make sure there is enough lumber and steel forms needed for the job. Decide what equipment will be the most efficient to get the job done and make sure that it all gets to the jobsite.
  • Get area ready with the skidsteer by taking out the sod and or existing old concrete that needs to be removed. Use the Jackhammer, sledge hammers, and concrete saw to demo the old concrete.
  • Get the grade close by adding more gravel if needed and pack with packer.
  • Set line stakes and mark correct elevations and slopes on them to set the string lines up to so that your formwork can be installed correctly and that it will hold the concrete at the correct height and that it is sloping in the right direction so the water will drain away from buildings.
  • Install the forms by using steel stakes and 8 and 16 penny nails into lumber boards of various sizes depending on the job requirements. Install reinforcement kickers if needed on th formwork to hold it nice and straight so it will not bow out or move when the concrete gets poured into it.
  • Layout and cut, install, and tie rebar at 2 foot centers or closer if the job requires. Use hammer drill to drill pins into any existing concrete so that the slabs will stay together and that the freeze thaw cycle will not bow one slab up higher than the other and they will stay level.
  • Get all tools, screeds, broom, bullfloat and everything else needed to pour the concrete ready so when the truck arrives we are ready pour the concrete.
  • Help pour and place the concrete using rakes, screeds, and mag floats to place concrete at correct height and to chalk line references on walls and pipes. Help rake for guys on power screed so there isnt to much concrete or push some in if it gets to low in reference to the magged out pin points and wet screed.
  • Make sure all tools get cleaned up good and put back in proper place.
  • Help finish the concrete by determining when to mag the edges, edge the sides, bullfloat and decide when to fresno if needed and when to put the broom finish on it so that the desired texture or roughness is achieved.

Quality Control Testing experience testing aggregate mixes for concrete and asphalt to ensure the correct amount of the correct and different sized aggregates are in the mix by running the mix through shakers and seives and weighing each screen and recording the results into computer program and then print out results for each mix and file them.

Break concrete cylinders in the hydraulic press machine that records the psi pressure that it took to break the concrete at different stages of the curing process and record results and file them.
